Kayla Kollman

Apprentice

Kayla Kollman from State College, PA has been dancing since the age of 3.  Her training began at Centre Dance under Nicole Swope. She was a member of Avid Dance Productions, which traveled to various dance competitions and workshops in the northeastern U.S. to train with renowned choreographers. Through these competitions and workshops, Kayla was awarded numerous scholarships and awards including participation at Edge Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles and World Dance Movement in Italy.  Her extensive training and experience led to her selection as a member of the Penn State Lionettes’ Dance Team in 2008-09. She currently teaches dance and choreographs for local dance studios.  Kayla was honored to be a member of Fluidity Dance Company from 2009 to 2012.  As a company member of Fluidity, she has danced at Project Dance and Steps Performance Lab in New York City, Grier Gala, Motion Performance and Koresh Artist Showcase in Philadelphia as well as numerous local events. She was awarded a scholarship for the professional summer intensive program with the Houston Met. Dance Co. in June 2010 and June 2012.  She also was presented a scholarship to attend classes at Broadway Dance Center by Tracie Stanfield of Synthesis Dance Project.   She graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management.  Kayla is looking forward to training and dancing with the August Wilson Center Dance Ensemble.
